The Art Preserve of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center is the world’s first museum dedicated to the presentation, care, and study of art environments, a unique art form wherein artists transform their homes, yards, and other spaces into multifaceted works of art. The Art Preserve is an experimental space housing the Art Center’s world-renowned collection of over 35 artist-built environments, allowing year-round viewing of these fascinating works, and providing a platform for ongoing explorations and investigations into art environments, their makers, and the Arts Center’s role as their institutional steward.
