Manitowoc Breakwater Lighthouse
Built in 1895, the Manitowoc Breakwater Lighthouse is the first part of Wisconsin you'll see when coming in from Lake Michigan. The Lighthouse is 52 ft tall and operates with an automated Fresnel lens.
Visitors can park at Lighthouse Park and take the pier past the Paws & Play Dog Park to the lighthouse, where you can walk right up to the historic beacon and look into the windows.
Journey out to the lighthouse in the early morning to catch a picturesque sunrise over Lake Michigan, or spend a mid-summer day at Lighthouse Park's sandy beach. The pier to the Lighthouse is open all year.
The lighthouse is open every year on July 4th for free tours and several times a year for ticketed tours, organized by the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.
